Sacramental Preparation

Marriage Register as soon as possible.  Please contact the priest at least six(6) months prior to the wedding.  The date is tentative until the preparation program is complete.  Advent & Lent are Penitential Seasons; couples are encouraged to plan their wedding outside these seasons.

Care of the sick and those confined to their Homes Please call the Parish Office for a Priest as soon as you or someone in your family is hospitalized or suffers a serious illness or injury. Regular visits are made to the hospitals and the priest visits those confined to home every First  Friday

Confetti Eggs "Baking Season" is fast approaching and we need your eggshells to make  "confetti eggs".   How to: Gently tap the end of the egg on your kitchen counter.  Once cracked, peel back the shell to make an opening about the size of a quarter.  Once you have poured the yolk and egg white into your favorite recipe, thoroughly rinse out the eggshell.  Let it dry upside down in the egg carton.  Leave your carton of shells in the Cry Room.

School Thank you to those who supported Godfather's Pizza Night.  We received a check for $132.   Our next Beef O'Brady Day will be Wednesday, December 16th.

Health Care Reform The US Bishops Conference have asked you to please contact our
Senators immediately and urge them to fix the Health Care bills with pro-life amendments.  You can send an email message to Congress with a click of a button.  We have information at the  back of church containing these addresses.  Your swift action and the commitment of our prayers for this critical effort.  Thank you for your help.  We can help make sure that health care reform will be about savings lives, not destroying them.

Special Collection this weekend for the Retired Religious Fund.  Data submitted to the National Religious Retirement Office reveals that the average annual cost of care for women and men religious, age 70 and over, has more than doubled since 1989.  Current statistics put this figure at $35,077 per person annually, with skilled care reaching nearly $55,000.  Your donation to the Retirement Fund for Religious provides critical support to religious institutes in meeting the escalating costs of elder care.  Please pray for all religious and give generously to next week's
special collection.

Around the Archdiocese…
From Catholic Social Services -- "As we give thanks for our blessings this year, we at The Service Center of Catholic Social Services wishes to communicate our thanks to each of you for your support of our programs and services given through monetary donations, clothing, household goods, personal and cleaning supplies, medical items and furniture and appliances to both our Curiosity Shop and Curiosity Closet.  We could not assist our clients with basic needs without your ongoing support.  We are also grateful for those who supported our Wine Festival.  The $30,000 this event generated will enable us to assist additional families during their time of emergency or crisis to get back on their feet. Currently, we are especially in need of families who would be willing to sponsor a family at Christmas.  Please contact Sr. Jean at 434-1510 to participate.  Also, donations of men and children clothing are needed for our Curiosity Closet located at 555 Dauphin St.  God bless each of you for the blessing you are to the Catholic Service Center."
