Sacramental Preparation Baptism There is a preparation program for parents and sponsors prior to the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism.  Please call Fr. Irwin, 661-3908 to set up a meeting.  It is a good idea to schedule the preparation program prior to the baby's birth.
Marriage Register as soon as possible.  Please contact the priest at least six(6) months prior to the wedding.  The date is tentative until the preparation program is complete.  Advent & Lent are Penitential Seasons; couples are encouraged to plan their wedding outside these seasons.

Care of the sick and those confined to their Homes Please call the Parish Office for a Priest as soon as you or someone in your family is hospitalized or suffers a serious illness or injury. Regular visits are made to the hospitals and the priest visits those confined to home every First Friday Tithe Report    141 Parish Families, through  November 22nd have pledged $223,176.00.  We thank each of you for your commitment to our Parish!  Your regular contributions help pay the bills and support all the activities we have at St. Vincent's.  Our Stewardship Drive is ongoing, will you please make your commitment today?

.  A tithe card has been placed in the envelope box  if we have not yet received your 2010 card.  If you have not been assigned envelopes, and wish to receive them, there are extras on the table.  Please REMEMBER to complete, sign and return the blank tithe card included in these boxes.  

Dec 8th Holy Day of Obligation Tuesday
, December 8th is the Feast of the Immaculate of the Blessed Virgin Mary and is a Holy Day of Obligation.  We will have Holy Mass at 7 pm Monday night and at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning with the school. Mass will also be offered throughout the city at various parishes. Please make plans to attend.

Christmas Liturgy Sign-Up Sheet is on the  credenza as you enter Church.  Please indicate at which Mass you'll be available to serve.

Penance Service in the Area:  St. Dominic, Tuesday, Dec 15th at 7 pm.

Congratulations to our First Reconciliation students
.    Please keep these young people in your prayers as they continue on their journey to
receive Christ for the first time. --to the newest member of our parish, Richard Cullen Burke, son of Richard and Mandy Burke, who was baptized last week.

Spring Festival Meeting Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 6th,  6 p.m. Parish Hall. Confetti Eggs "Baking Season" is fast approaching and we need your eggshells to make  "confetti eggs".   How to: Gently tap the end of the egg on your kitchen counter.  Once cracked, peel back the shell to make an opening about the size of a quarter.  Once you have poured the yolk and egg white into your favorite recipe, thoroughly rinse out the eggshell.  Let it dry upside down in the egg carton.  Leave your carton of shells in the Cry Room.

School The 8th grade class is pre-selling 8 inch poinsettia (red, marble, pink, white) for $15.00.  Delivery date to the school is Dec. 14th.  If you would like, you may purchase and have placed in the Church one of these poinsettias in remembrance of a Loved One. These poinsettias will be delivered to the Church at a date closer to Christmas, and, a list of "In Remembrance" will be placed in the Church vestibule and the Church bulletin.  Checks should be made payable to "St. Vincent School" Cut-off date is Monday, Dec. 7th. 

SVS  PTO is hosting Breakfast with Santa next Saturday, December 12th.  Please see the bulletin insert for more information.

Health Care Reform The US Bishops Conference have asked you to please contact our
Senators immediately and urge them to fix the Health Care bills with pro-life amendments.  You can send an email message to Congress with a click of a button.  We have information at the  back of church containing these addresses.  Your swift action and the commitment of our prayers for this critical effort.  Thank you for your help.  We can help make sure that health care reform will be about savings lives, not destroying them.

We extend our sympathy and prayers to  George Callahan on the death of his brother, and, Jimbo Albritten on death of his uncle.  May their souls and all the souls of the faithful departed, rest in peace!

Special Collection next weekend for the Retired Religious Fund.  Data submitted to the National Religious Retirement Office reveals that the average annual cost of care for women and men religious, age 70 and over, has more than doubled since 1989.  Current statistics put this figure at $35,077 per person annually, with skilled care reaching nearly $55,000.  Your donation to the Retirement Fund for Religious provides critical support to religious institutes in meeting the escalating costs of elder care.  Please pray for all religious and give generously to next week's special collection.

Annual Holiday Sale
Little Sisters of the Poor are having their annual Holiday Sale, Friday and Saturday, December 11 and 12 from 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. in their auditorium at 1655 McGill Avenue. Christmas wreaths, arrangements, ornaments and many gift items will be available from the Floral Department. The Craft Department will have handmade items and lots of gift items. Come check us out.
