Sacramental Preparation
Baptism There is a preparation program for parents and sponsors prior to the celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism. Please call Fr. Irwin, 661-3908 to set up a meeting. It is a good idea to schedule the preparation program prior to the baby's birth.
Marriage Register as soon as possible. Please contact the priest at least six(6) months prior to the wedding. The date is tentative until the preparation program is complete. Advent & Lent are Penitential Seasons; couples are encouraged to plan their wedding outside these seasons.
Care of the sick and those confined to their Homes Please call the Parish Office for a Priest as soon as you or someone in your family is hospitalized or suffers a serious illness or injury. Regular visits are made to the hospitals and the priest visits those confined to home every First Friday
Tithe Report 209 Parish Families, through November 8th, have pledged $209,116.00. We thank each of you for your commitment to our Parish! Your regular contributions help pay the bills and support all the activities we have at St. Vincent's. Our Stewardship Drive is ongoing, will you please make your commitment today?
Tithe Cards Completion and return of the tithe card is another way to update your address & phone number for our mailing list. Even if you are unable to commit to a tithe at this time, please return the card by way of the collection basket.
November, the Month of the Holy Souls We take the month of November to pray for the souls of the faithful departed each year. We have placed the books of the deceased near the baptismal pool Please remember that the book has the names of all of the deceased from previous years already in it, and so, there is no need to rewrite the names of deceased loved ones. Please call Sandra(Rectory office) if you would like to have the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass offered for a deceased loved one.
Readers Training There will be a training session for all readers, current and new, Tuesday, Nov. 17th at 7pm. All reads are asked to attend!
Ladies Altar Society Bake Sale will be held next weekend (11/21/22) after all Masses. If you would like to donate baked good(s), please bring to the Ladies on Sale Day. Any questions, call Pat Cannon, 660-8856.
Mark Your Calendars - First Reconciliation/ Advent Penance Service Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 7:00 pm: Let us celebrate this wonderful sacrament of the Lord's mercy as a parish family, together with our 2nd graders. We will have between 3 & 4 priests here to help Fr. Irwin. We realize that this date falls shortly after a weekend where many will be away for Thanksgiving, so please mark your calendars now.
School Bruno's is having green receipts again and have re-instated its program for schools. Greer's and Food Tiger have also started a school program, called Apples for Students. You save your receipts and send them to school. Thanks for your help!
Holy Days of Obligation: All Saints Day, Nov 1st, kicks off a run of 4 of the 5 holy days of obligation each year. Besides keeping holy the Sabbath Day each Sunday by going to Mass, the Church also asks us (obliges us) to celebrate 5 special feast days during the year: Jan. 1, the Feast of Mary, the Mother of God; Aug. 15, the Assumption of Mary into Heaven; Nov. 1st, All Saints Day; Dec. 8th the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary; and Dec. 25th, Christmas. These are holy days of obligation because they are such important feast days. Giving roughly 57 hours of the year to the Lord of the whole universe is not too much to ask. If one misses Sunday Mass or a Holy Day without a sufficiently grave reason, the Sacrament of Reconciliation should be received before receiving Holy Communion.
Short-Term Teachers Needed: We have a few students who would like to be baptized and receive their First Holy Communion and who are in need of some instruction. If you would like to instruct one of these children for several weeks in preparation for these sacraments, please call Debbie Stapleton. We could really use you.

Health Care Reform Last weekend, you received a special bulletin insert from the US Bishops Conference asking you to please contact our Senators immediately and urge them to fix the Health Care bills with pro-life amendments. The insert included a web address that allows you to send an email message to Congress with a click of a button. Additional inserts can be found at the back of church. The bishops have asked for our swift action and the commitment of our prayers for this critical effort. Thank you for your help. We can help make sure that health care reform will be about savings lives, not destroying them.
